My name is Iliana Zafiriou and I am an Allied Health Assistant at The Next Step.
I am studying my Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology and am set to graduate in June 2020. The first time I heard about TNS was when I was given my clinical placement allocation. Over the 8-week placement, I fell in love with the work that the TNS team provided to the athletes, strengthening my established passion for motor learning and neurological conditions, as I got hands on experience working in a field I am so passionate about. I was fortunate enough to get a job following placement as an AHA to continue working in a position that I love, with the most amazing people you’ll ever meet!!
I love to challenge myself to think outside the box and discover new ways to help improve function and performance. I find this field of work to be very rewarding as I am able to help others achieve their goals and improve their function and lifestyle.
5 things you should know about me:
I have travelled to Greece 10 times in my lifetime so far, meaning I have had 10 extra summers and 10 less winters!
I started playing AFL last year and won the leading goal kicker for my league, getting the nickname Betts and Coleman from my teammates.
I have done rap jumping off a building in the city and abseiling down an 80m cliff.
I love spending time with my family and friends!
I may be short, but I once scored 38-points in a single game of basketball.
